Curriculum Vitæ – Jessica Papke
Name:
Jessica Papke
Birth place: Berlin
Nationality: German
Profession: Mathematician and Geodesist
Responsibility within Gamma: Project Scientist, PhD Student (Marie-Curie Early Stage Researcher within GMES Initial Operations - Network for Earth Observation Research Training (GIONET))
Key Qualifications
The main experience of J. Papke is in the development of automated processing strategies for ground-based and space-borne earth observation data by using, enhancing and optimizing existing software modules and structures. Her background is in mathematics, informatics and geodesy, including research activities wrt 3D modeling, satellite altimetry, radar remote sensing data evaluation and field experiments (surveying, GPS and snow height measurements). Currently she is very active in SAR interferometric data processing, analysis and interpretation to retrieve displacement measures from space-borne SAR data as well as from conducted terrestrial radar measurements.
Professional Education
2009 MSc degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany for a thesis on the evaluation of ground-based GPS reflectometry data.
2006 German Diplom (FH) in Mathematics from the University of Applied Sciences, Technische Fachhochschule (TFH) Berlin, Germany, for studies on the development of strategies for the optimization of surface models.
Employment Record
2011-date Project Scientist at Gamma Remote Sensing Research and Consulting Ltd. Main activities are to conduct research studies using SAR interferometry with deeper interest in rock glacier and displacement monitoring in mountain regions.
2009-2011 Software Engineer at Werum Software & Systems AG in Lueneburg, Germany, in the section Earth Observation. Duties included designing, configuring, integrating, documenting and testing software modules wrt data management and processing tasks in payload data ground segments of environmental satellites.
2003-2009 Several short-term positions as student assistant in Berlin and Potsdam gaining work experience in the fields of earth observation, mathematics and informatics .
